From the very beginning, God has envisioned the entire world's population. Yet, about 4,000 years ago, He initiated a remarkable project. At that time, when an estimated few hundred thousand people lived on earth, He embarked on a new initiative. The tragedy of ancient Babel was behind us. Nations began to disperse. New civilizations arose. Superpowers emerged. Babylonia and ancient Egypt topped the list. They might be compared to America and China today.
Of course, God's plan was still to form one great community of people to walk together in all eternity. But what could He do to further that project?
